S.S. NORMANDIE 8" Long Dinner Fork in First Class "Atlas" Pattern - Resilvered

Description

French Line: A 8" long dinner fork in the famed "Atlas" pattern designed for First Class on the NORMANDIE.
The NORMANDIE-specific CGT logo is on the back of the handle. The name of famed French silversmiths Christofle is just below the tines although the name is partially filled-in with the new silverplating. Similar flatware is shown on page 222 of Louis-Rene Vien's "Arts Decoratifs a Bord des Paquebots Francais".
The fork has been re-silvered and shows a series little bumps on one side of the handle. I am not sure if it is from the re-silvering or originally on the fork.
Excellent condition.
