WWII Spartan School Tulsa OK - Miami Oklahoma RAF Royal Air Force Training Field Banner; Large 33 x 34 1/2 Banner or Cover with Additional 2 1/2 Inch Fringe 'Spartan School Miami, Okla. RAF' with Nice Royal Air Forces Flight Badge Insignia.  The Spartan School of Aeronautics of Tulsa, OK was Owned and Operated by J. Paul Getty during WWII and this particular satellite field was setup for training Royal Air Force Pilots in 1941

By October 26, the RAF pilots had arrived and begun training. But pilot training was a dangerous business, and in all 13 British students lost their lives, and are buried in Miami’s cemetery.  On December 7, of course, the US entered the war. The Spartan School was ramped up to include training for American pilots" (Miamihistory Net)
